If our providers refer you to a specialist, we will assist by contacting the specialist’s office with the necessary information and the reason for the referral. Often times the specialists office will contact you directly with the appointment information but in some cases they may provide us with the appointment information.
It’s critical for you to access your patient portal to retrieve the information provided. This is the most direct means we have to contact you, especially during the day when you may be working and unable to accept calls. It also allows us to provide you with timely updates as the referral process moves along.
If you are referred to a specialist and don’t hear from our office within 2-3 days, please contact us for an update. If your insurance company requires an insurance referral or approval, please let our staff know you need an insurance referral.
