Brent Smith PA-C
Born in Edison, Georgia, Brent has been a valued member of Rivertown Pediatrics since 2007. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Georgia Southwestern College in Americus, and completed graduate studies in education at the University of Georgia before earning his Master of Medical Science from Emory University’s Physician Assistant program.
Before beginning his career in medicine, Brent taught high school science and math and coached baseball, wrestling, and football in Virginia and Georgia. His background in education enhances his ability to communicate effectively with patients and families.
Brent is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and earned a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Pediatrics in 2014—an advanced credential demonstrating specialized knowledge in pediatric medicine. He is a member of the Georgia Association of Physician Assistants, American Academy of Physician Assistants, American Academy of Pediatrics, and the Society of Physician Assistants in Pediatrics. He also serves on the Pediatrics Faculty at Piedmont Columbus Regional and contributes to multiple professional committees.
Brent is married and has one daughter. Outside of the office, he enjoys golf, fishing, and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs. Go Dawgs!
